ANP accuses government of delaying NFC Award

Acting president ANP, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, has alleged that government is using delaying tactics in announcement of National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and after 18th Constitutional Amendment no financial award is given so far.

He was addressing a provincial convention of the Malgari Wakeelan, an ANP affiliated lawyers' wing.

The acting ANP chief said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is facing severe financial crisis that is bearing negative effects on matters of the province. He demanded the payment of net hydel profit to province on the basis of the AGN Qazi Formula.

He said that before the government of ANP, KP was receiving only Rs 6 billion per annum and they have obtained a big amount of Rs 110 billion in head of net profit from the federal government.

He said that the federal government is in search of excuse for increasing power tariff and despite consecutive hike in the prices of electricity, KP is not being paid its due share.

Hoti, who is also former chief minister of the KP, said the provincial government should itself have fought political and legal battle for the rights of the province, but unfortunately, it is not happening. He announced that beside political struggle ANP will now also fight legal battle and for this purpose will soon consult its legal team.

He said that their achievements including provincial autonomy are not digested by some specific ministers. Therefore, propaganda is being carried out against 18th Constitutional Amendment under a specified narrative. He said that 18th Amendment had strengthen Pakistan and ANP will stand against its all opponents.

Ameer Haider Hoti said the purpose of the merger of the erstwhile FATA with KP was aimed at empowering the people. But, the law promulgated regarding minerals of the merged districts has snatched ownership rights from the people and vowed to resist it both politically and legally.

He said the champion of one Pakistan is opening corridor, which they welcome, but on other hand he is disgracing Pakhtuns at both Chaman and Torkham borders. He said that Pakistan belongs to all, but what is practically going on is not for one Pakistan.
