Deepika Padukone launches late Sridevi’s biography
- The book is titled ‘Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess’.
- Bollywood veteran Kajol has penned the foreward for Sridevi’s book.
Deepika Padukone and Boney Kapoor launched on Sunday a biography on late Bollywood diva Sridevi, titled ‘Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess’, at an event in New Delhi. The biography has been penned by Satyarth Nayak.
Remembering his wife, Sridevi's husband and film producer Boney got emotional at the time of the book launch. Deepika revealed that she agreed immediately when asked by Boney to launch a book on Sridevi, not just because she was a celebrated actress but also because she shared a personal bond with her.
Speaking about her initial days in Bollywood, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress shared that Boney and Sridevi are the real champions of her work. Deepika also reminisced the days when Sridevi used to send her personalised messages for every film that she did and praised her for her performances.
Bollywood's veteran Kajol has penned the foreward for Sridevi’s book. "I have grown up watching Sridevi's superstardom on film-sets and her magic on the big screen. She is an institution of acting and will forever remain my most favourite icon. So happy Penguin gave me this opportunity to write this foreword," Kajol said in a statement.
The book was earlier titled 'Sridevi: Girl Woman Superstar' but was later on changed.
