Two new polio cases surface in KP
Two new polio cases have surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising the total count of polio cases so far in 2019 to 68 in the KP province and 94 in the whole country respectively.
In a statement of the Emergency Operation Centre Khyber Pakhtunkhwa issued on Wednesday said that a fresh polio case of 18 year old children was detected in tehsil Parwa of southern district DI Khan.
Similarly, another child of four year was fallen prey of polio in tehsil Lakki of district Lakki Marwat.
Samples of the both children were sent to testing laboratory of the National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad, wherein confirmation of polio virus would be determined after holding proper examination.
Chairing a meeting by Emergency Operation Centre Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Coordinator after surfacing of two new polio cases in the province, the EOC Abdul Basit said that the access of polio drops to every children is essential to complete eliminate polio and free the country from this disease forever.
He informed an anti-polio campaign will be launched from December 16 in KP so he urged the parents to full cooperate with polio teams and administrate polio drops to their children to protect them from lift time disability.
Abdul Basit said that the polio can be completely eliminated until every child would have access to polio drops. In this regard, he said any kind of leniency and negligence is unbearable.
