July-November: Revenue collections of MCC, Appraisement East & West decrease

The revenue collections of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Appraisement East & West have witnessed 2 percent and 17 percent decline during July-November period.

The revenue collections of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Appraisement East & West have witnessed 2 percent and 17 percent decline during July-November period.

According to the statistics, the MCC, Appraisement East has collected Rs 187.84 billion during this period as compared to Rs 191.002 billion collected during last corresponding period, depicting 2 percent decline.

The revenue collection made on account of customs duty and income tax remained Rs 64.41 billion and 29.005 billion, respectively during said period, showing 11 percent and 8 percent decline as compared to the collection of Rs 72.53 billion and Rs 31.42 billion, respectively made during preceding period under aforesaid heads.

However, the MCC Appraisement East has generated Rs 93.67 billion and Rs 748 million under the heads of sales tax and FED, respectively, witnessing 8 percent and 7 percent growth, respectively. The overall revenue collection for the month of November, 2019 showed 8 percent growth despite revenue shortfall of Rs 123 million and Rs 129 million in income tax and FED, respectively as compared to the collection made in these accounts during corresponding period.

In the same way, the MCC Appraisement West has collected Rs 93.84 billion during this period as compared to Rs 112.58 billion collected during last corresponding period, depicting 17 percent decline.

The revenue collection made on account of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and FED during this period are Rs 37.95 billion, Rs 41.72 billion, 13.98 billion and Rs 172 million, respectively, showing 26 percent, 4 percent, 20 percent & 64 percent decline as compared to the collection of Rs 51.03 billion, Rs 43.62 billion, Rs 17.45 billion and Rs 479 million respectively made during preceding period.

The overall revenue collection for the month of November, 2019 showed 18 percent decline, depicting revenue shortfall of Rs 2.750 billion, Rs 363 million, Rs 875 million & Rs 75 million under customs duty, sales tax, income tax and FED accounts, respectively as against the collection made under these heads during past corresponding period.
