Child Life Foundation, a public private partner of the government of the Sindh to run children emergency rooms in government hospitals has saved more than 2.7 lives in last 8 years, said Dr Ahson Rabbani, CEO, Child Life Foundation, in a presentation given to Sindh health minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho.
He informed the Sindh government's commitment has paved the way for development of better health infrastructure for people of Sindh. Since the project began in Karachi, the children of Karachi have access to world class emergency services within 30 minutes from their location, he added.
He said that with the network of 7 Emergency Rooms, Child Life is saving 1 million children annually now. Moreover, Child Life is using Tele-Medicine to reach remote areas such as Mithi and provide consultation, he added.
Currently, Child Life has 7 state-of-the-art model emergency rooms in Sindh including Mother & Child Hospital, Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawahshah), Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, and 5 hospitals in Karachi including Civil Hospital, National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Sindh Government Hospital Korangi-5, Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and additional such facilities will be working in Sukkur and Hyderabad soon. He mentioned that Child Life vision is "Child-Safe Pakistan" with a mission to save the future of Pakistan, since our children are our future.
