Police directed to increase patrolling around LHC
Newly-appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Rai Babar Saeed has directed the Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) teams to increase patrolling around the premises of the Lahore High Court (LHC) so that security of visitors could be made foolproof.
The senior police officer issued this direction while inspecting security arrangements of the LHC here on Friday. SP Security LHC Asad-ur-Rehman along with DSP Absar Ahmed also gave briefing to the DIG on the security matters.
"Physical checking of every visitor should be ensured by using walkthrough gates and metal detectors. Security of judges, lawyers and complainants besides others should be foolproof," directed the DIG, adding that all CCTV cameras installed at inside and outside of the court should be functional. "The police officials should also maintain backup data of the video recordings," he said and directed the personnel of Dolphin Squad and PRU to increase patrolling around the LHC premises so that any untoward incident could be avoided.
