The incidents of motor vehicle thefts witnessed an increase during the last week in the federal capital as carjackers stole or snatched over 10 vehicles from various localities.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the city's different police stations registered over five cases various kinds of theft, two cases of kidnapping and one case of murder during the last week.

In the same period, the most "favorite" areas for the criminal gangs were within limits of Lohi Bher, Sabzi Mandi, Bhara Kahu and Industrial Area police stations.

During the last week, Lohi Bher police registered one case each of robbery, auto theft and kidnapping. Manwar Bibi informed Lohi Bher police station that accused Waqas kidnapped his daughter. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number AXQ-803 of Muhammad Waris of Rs 40,000.

Similarly, Allah Dita lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that accused Habib Ullah and Sajjid kidnapped his daughter.

In the same period, Sabzi Mandi police registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. Muhammad Nadeem filed a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that accused Muhammad Farooq stole cash, a mobile phone, a laptop and other valuables of Rs 200,000 from his house. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number LH-259 of Fawad of Rs 350,000.

During the period under review, Bhara Kahu police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. Haleema Bibi lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that the accused Mujeeb stole Rs 26,000 from her daughter's purse. Auto thieves stole a bike of Muhammad Arshad.
