Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that those persons doing corruption are not only usurping the rights of public but also committing treason with their position in the country.
"Corruption weakened the foundation of Pakistan and it amounts to social cruelty. Corruption also causes unrest and disappointment in society. However, it is the mission of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to fully eradicate corruption," the chief minister said in his message on the International Anti-Corruption Day on Sunday.
"By maintaining transparency in government affairs, eliminating corruption and adopting policy of better service delivery has improved image of the country at international level. There is no room for corrupt persons in new Pakistan as zero tolerance policy has been adopted against corruption, he added.
According to Buzdar, corruption-free "new Pakistan" will be formed under the leadership of Imran Khan. However, he added, all segments of the society will have to work in collaboration with the government to make sincere struggle in this regard. The CM vowed that the "New Pakistan" will be completely purged from corruption and will depict the dream of Allama Iqbal and thought of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Meanwhile, Chairman Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) Mian Kashif Ashfaq called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and briefed him about the pace of work for setting up preferential economic zone named Allama Iqbal Industrial City Faisalabad under CPEC.
Kashif also briefed the CM about arrangements being made for the inauguration of Allama Iqbal Industrial City. He said that interest shown by foreign investors in the Allama Iqbal Industrial City is welcoming, adding that it was the first preferential economic zone under CPEC which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister on 26th December.
He added that so far over 25 Chinese companies have made agreements for making investments in this industrial city while other foreign companies are also showing their interest.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM expressed that the Allama Iqbal Industrial City will be a game-changer in connection with expediting the process of industrialization in Punjab. He said the Punjab government has provided a conducive environment for the promotion of investment across the province.
"All possible steps will be taken to provide security to the investors," he said and directed that link road connecting the Allama Iqbal Industrial City with Sahianwala Interchange should be started at the earliest.
