After examining the veracity of sexually explicit pictures and video of a girl apparently resembling TV anchor Fatima Sohail, the cyber crime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore has termed these videos fake and recommended the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to remove such content posted on social media platforms for defaming the celebrity.

According to a letter shared by Fatima on her Instagram account, the FIA informed the PTA that on December 4, 2019, a sexually explicit content (video) resembling Fatima Sohail was found circulating on social media including twitter, YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp.

"The video has seriously damaged the repute of the complainant, who is a noble citizen," says the letter and identifies four accounts (two on Instagram and each on YouTube and twitter) which were spreading the content.

When the video went viral last week, a number of people immediately took to the social media and made disgusting comments to troll the anchorperson, the former wife of singer Mohsin Abbas Haider.

Talking to a private TV channel, Fatima said: "I am not in this video, I have no links to it, and this is not me. I am alone with my child; I am fighting a lot of battles by myself. I am being tormented by the person; you all know who that person is." She further said: "I had also informed the FIA investigators that someone by creating my fake account was tagging the people I work with and trying to defame me." "Let suppose if he (Mohsin) has nothing to do with this, he never came forward and defended me. I have spent 6-7 years with him, he knows me very well," she regretted.

Fatima recently obtained a khula from Mohsin; she alleges to be a survivor of domestic abuse and is now filing for the sole custody of their son.
