Hamdard Public School win Inter-School Football Championship
The final match of 21st Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said Memorial Inter-School Football Championship 2019 was played yesterday between the teams of Hamdard Public School and Hamdard Village School and won by the former with a margin 4-1.
The match was equal at the last moment but eventually decided on penalty kicks. Unfortunately the four-year champion team of Hamdard Village School failed to utilize the penalty kicks properly and lost the championship.
In all eight teams of different schools participated in the championship.
Mrs. Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan gave away winner trophy and runner up trophy and also cash prizes of Rs 30,000 and 20,000 respectively to the winner and runner up teams. Professor Dr Shabeebul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Hamdard University and a guest, Shahnawaz Khan gave cash prizes of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively to each team.
Speaking on the occasion D.G. Rangers, Major General Umar Ahmed Bukhari said that extra-curriculum activities played key role in building up the personalities of the students, created team spirit in them and provided them opportunities to learn more.
"I am very happy to come at Hamdard University and Hamdard Public School, because I got a good chance to see the work and institutions of a great man and icon, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said," he added.
Dr Khalid Nasim, Administrator, Hamdard Public School offered vote of thanks. Besides, distinguished guests, parents, teachers and students watched the final match of football championship-2019.
