SECP Policy Board: NAB initiates inquiry against illegal appointments
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday initiated an inquiry against illegal appointments in Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Policy Board in violation of rules and regulations and by misusing authority.
An official of NAB said that Chairman NAB former Justice Javed Iqbal had taken notice of a complaint of Chairman Securities and Exchange Policy Board (SEPB) Khalid Mirza regarding appointments in SECP Policy Board in violations of rules and regulation and ordered Director General (DG) Rawalpindi to investigate the matter.
According to NAB statement, Mirza during an interview confessed that inappropriate and wrong appointments have badly affected the performance of SECP. Mirza instead of criticizing the NAB directly or indirectly should improve the image of his organization being its chairman, added the statement.
