Carjacking, theft cases on the rise in Capital
The incidents of various kinds of theft, carjacking and kidnapping registered an increase in the federal capital during the last week.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, various police stations of the city registered over eight cases of car lifting, five cases of various kinds of theft including robbery and snatching at gunpoint, two cases of kidnapping and one case of murder during the last week.
The most favourite areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Golra, Aabpara, Bhara Kahu, Sihala and Sabzi Mandi police stations. During the last week, Golra police station registered two cases of robbery. One Abubakar lodged a complaint with Golra police station that three unknown robbers riding a bike snatched a mobile phone and Rs 25,000 cash from him. Another Mujab Ali informed Golra police station that one Ijaz allegedly stole a mobile phone, a laptop and other valuables of Rs 300,000 from his house.
Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number ATR-313 of Muhammad Yameen of Rs 80,000 and lifted another bike bearing registration number LEG-2269 of Muhammad Ijaz of Rs 80,000 from the jurisdiction of Aabpara police station.
In the same period, Bhara Kahu police station registered one case each of kidnapping and robbery. Akbar Ali lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that one Hamid Ali allegedly kidnapped his daughter. One Saifur Rehman informed Bhara Kahu police station that one Taswaar allegedly gave him intoxicated tea and looted cash, gold and other valuables of Rs 1,250,000. During the period under review, Sihala police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. One Majid Ashfaq filed a complaint with Sihala police station that Muhammad Ali and Muzaffar allegedly stole 14,000 Saudi riyals and a mobile phone from his house. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number ADC-171 of Dr Tahira.
In the same period, auto thieves stole a car and one person was killed in the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station. Similarly, Secretariat police station registered one case of auto theft, Noon police station filed a case of kidnapping and Lohi Bher police station registered one case of robbery during the last week.
