Accountability Court grants bail to Khursheed Shah
- NAB had requested the court to extend Khursheed Shah’s judicial remand for 15 days.
- The court granted bail to the PPP leader against the surety of five million.
(Karachi) The Accountability Court in Sukkur granted bail to Pakistan Peoples Party leader Khursheed Shah in accumulating assets beyond means case on Tuesday.
During proceedings, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested the court to extend Khursheed Shah’s judicial remand for 15 days. However, the court rejected NAB’s request and granted bail to the PPP leader against the surety of five million.
In the previous hearing, Khursheed Shah’s remand was extended till December 17 in the said corruption case. Shah who was admitted to the hospital for treatment was brought to the court in an ambulance.
The PPP senior leader was taken into custody by NAB on September 28 for accumulating assets and properties beyond means. A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was also constituted to carry out investigations against him.
