PML-N Secretary Information Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that the court's decision to give death penalty to Pervez Musharraf has written a new chapter in the history of the country. In a statement Marriyum said that with this momentous verdict, the court has blocked any future attempts to abrogate Pakistan's constitution, said a press release issued here. This verdict, she said, has marked the direction of Pakistan's future. A new era of the people's right to self govern and supremacy of the constitution will ensue after this decision she said.

Marriyum said this decision stands out as the most unique verdict in the judicial history of the country. She said for the first time in the history of the country, Pakistan has been set afoot in a new direction by the court's decision of ruling against a dictator. This decision will result will lead to the supremacy of the constitution, strengthening of democracy and upholding of the law, she said.
