Sri Lanka appears dominating on the first day of second and Test match, putting full-stop on Pakistan's first inning at 191 in 59.3 overs, though the home side came strongly in last session, sending three batsmen of touring side to the pavilion with the score of 64 in 19 overs, at National Stadium Karachi (NSK) on Thursday.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The left handed Shan Masood opened the inning with Abid Ali a record holder in the first Test in Lahore. Shan managed 5 runs of 15 balls with a boundary before he was bowled out by Vishwa Fernando. Captain Azhar Ali continued his poor performance and went back on a duck in same over of Fernando.

A new batting sensation Abid Ali was out (LBW) on Lahiru Kumara's ball as Pakistan lost third with at the total of 65 runs. He made 38 runs of 66 balls with 7 fours. Later Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq showed some resistance and made a partnership of 62 runs when Babar was caught behind by Dickwella on Islanders' rising spinning star Lasith Embuldeniya at the score. He made 60 runs of 96 balls with 8 boundaries and a six. He spent 149 minutes on the crease.

Later, Lahiru Kumara sent Asad Shafiq, Muhammad Rizwan and Yasir Shah to the pavilion at the score of 63 runs, 4 runs and a duck, respectively. Embuldeniya looked impressive and took four wickets of Haris (9), Muhammad Abbas (duck), Shaheen Afridi (5) and Babar (60) in 20.3 overs. Naseem remained not out at 1 runs as Sri Lanka wrapped up Pakistan's innings on the score of 191 runs in 59.3 overs.

Visitors' openers failed to give an impressive start. Shaheen ended the inning of Oshada Fernando at 4 runs when he was caught behind by Rizwan. Abbas bowled an impressive spell in the last session of the match and took two important wickets of Sri Lankan captain Karunaratne and Mendis. Karunaratne scored 25 runs of 42 balls with four boundaries while Mendis succeeded only in getting 13 runs. Angelo Mathews and night watchman Lasith Embuldeniya were playing at 8 runs and 3 runs, respectively when the first day of second Test match was ended.

The Sri Lankan side will start its innings on the second day of the match at the score of 64 runs. Bruse Oxenford and Joel Wilson are the field umpires of the match.
