The Punjab Assembly on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution for condemning Indian atrocities in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and unilateral step of abrogating its special status. It also condemned India's Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and termed it discriminatory.

The resolution was presented by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Uzma Kardar. The resolution through the federal government also demanded that it should urge the United Nations and other international organizations to ask India to reverse the India's Citizenship (Amendment) Act and restore the special status of Occupied Kashmir.

During the question-hour on housing, urban development and public health engineering, members from both treasury and opposition benches criticized government for not completing the schemes of water supply and closure of water filtration plants in different areas of Punjab. PML (N) MPA Saadia Taimoor in a supplementary question said that out of 537 filtration plants mostly are not working properly. PTI MPA Abdullah Warriach also complained that water supply lines were out of order.

He also said that the provision of clean drinking water to people of the province is the priority of government. He said in first phase, 65 water supply schemes will be completed in South Punjab. He also said that 662 water supply lines were not working in the province. Speaking on the point of order, PPP MPA Makhdoom Usman Mahmood said a committee should be constituted under Law Minister Raja Basharat on this important matter.
