The duo Pakistani pacers - Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Abbas broke out Sri Lankan batting lineup, helping Pakistan to restrain touring side at 271 runs on second day of second and final Test match at National Stadium Karachi (NSK).

Shaheen made his first five wickets haul in Test. He bowled 26.5 overs and conceded 77 runs while Abbas took 4 wickets off 55 runs.

Pakistan now has made 57 runs in 14 overs with 10 wickets in hands. Shan Masood is batting on 21 runs while Abid Ali on 32 runs unbeaten when umpires called off second day's play.

Shaheen at a presser said that he worked hard on his line and length, which helped him to take his first five-wicket haul; adding that NSK pitch was not suitable for fast bowlers but not even more helpful for spinners as well.

He gave credit to Abbas, who paired with him and took four wickets.

In a perfect playing condition where mercury rose up under full sunbeams, Angelo Mathews (8) and night watchman Lasith Embuldeniya (3) started Sri Lanka' first innings from 64 for 3 wickets on Friday. They added only 14 runs when Lasith got top edge while playing for Abbas's out-swinger.

He was caught by Asad Shafiq at second slips after making 13 runs. Angelo was caught behind the wicket by Rizwan when he got inside edge on Shaheen's ball, which went in sharply. He scored 13 runs of 44 balls.

Sri Lanka's sixth wicket fell at the score of 147 runs when Dhananjaya was caught by Abbas at mid-wicket on Shaheen's short pitched ball. He scored 32 runs. Dickwella, who made 21 runs, was bowled out by Abbas.

Dinesh Chandimal and Parera showed some resistance against Pakistani bowling attack. Chandimal scored 74 runs and was caught by Shan at point by Haris while Parera remained two runs short of his fifty and he was LBW out by Shaheen.

The Sri Lankan first innings was wrapped up at 271 runs in 85.5 overs when Kumara was bowled out by Shaheen in 85.5 overs play of the day.
