The incidents of motor vehicle theft have shown an increase in the federal capital as over 10 vehicles, including motor bikes, were stolen or snatched from different areas of the city during the last week.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, over five cases of various kinds of theft including robbery and snatching at gunpoint and four cases of kidnapping were reported to different police stations of the city in the aforesaid period.

During the last week, most 'favorite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Sabzi Mandi, Khanna, Margalla, and Kohsar police stations. In the same period, Sabzi Mandi police station registered two cases of robbery and one case each of kidnapping and auto theft. Adil Khan filed a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that unidentified people abducted his brother Javed Umer, 17.

One Usama Ehsan lodged a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments and local and foreign currencies valuing Rs 225,000 from his house. Similarly, Amjad Jalil filed a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that unknown thieves stole rice and ghee of Rs 1,150,000 from his warehouse.

Auto thieves stole a Hiace bearing registration number LES-1911 of one Safdar. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number RLC-9608 of one Muhammad Adnan and lifted another vehicle bearing registration number LED-9864 from the limits of Kohsar police station.

During the last week, Margalla police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. Ali Mahmood lodged a complaint with Margalla police station that accused Muhammad Shehzad and others snatched mobile phone and Rs 24,000 cash from him. Auto thieves stole a bike SGM-3349 of one Umer Sultan.

In the same period, two cases of kidnapping were reported to Khanna police station. Azhar Hussain filed a complaint with Khanna police station that accused Tasawwar Iqbal, Munawar and Maqbool allegedly kidnapped his sister and another Imtiaz Ahmed informed the same police station that unknown persons abducted his daughter.
