Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab has constituted an inquiry committee to ascertain the level of negligence on the part of police force during the attack of lawyers on Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC), said sources.
The committee included Additional IG Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Imran Mahmood and AIG Athar Ismail. The committee would assess the tragic incident of attack on PIC, the kind of negligence exhibited by the police force and delay in response. It would also witness all videos and record statements of relevant police officer. Sources said the committee has so far recorded statements of SHOs of a few police stations.
