Some of the observations made by World Bank's Country Director Illango Patchamuthu during his talk with some senior journalists need attention. According to him, for example, "Pakistan is facing the challenge of lack of political consensus on the economic reforms agenda."
He was of the view that private investment is only way to growth in Pakistan. The question is what the government has done so far to develop consensus on economic reforms agenda. Unfortunately, its approach to economic challenges is characterised by woeful complacency and incompetence.
