Member Federal Board of Revenue (Customs), Mohammad Jawad Owais Agha has assured the regularization of all those clearing agents working on temporary licenses and no registration of cases against them, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.
He gave these assurances during a meeting with Chairman, All Pakistan Customs Agents' Association (APCAA), Mohammad Arshad Jamal and President, Frontier Customs Agents Group (FCAG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Karachi.
During the meeting, the customs clearing agents raised the matter of the temporary basis allowing of the customs agents by customs collectorates and their operation without any examination.
They told the Member Customs that a period of over five years has been passed they are not being issued permanent license that is affecting business activities.
Meanwhile, President FCAG KP Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi paid tributes to Member Customs Mohammad Jawad Owais Agha and Chairman, APCCA, Mohammad Arshad Jamal for their efforts for the resolution of the long standing problems of the clearing agents.
He said that Mohammad Arshad Jamal has raised the issues of faced by the clearing agents with FBR in a good manner while the Member Customs, Mohammad Jawad Owais Agha issued immediate directives for the resolution of the longstanding demand of the customs agents. He said that all clearing agents are grateful to them in this regard.
