Dense fog is likely to prevail over the most plains of Punjab and upper Sindh in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Wednesday.
Met Office said that a few districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also expected to witness foggy conditions in the morning and nighttime. Frost is also likely to grip a few districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Potohar region during the period. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country while very cold in upper areas.
In the last 24 hours: The most of the plain areas of Punjab and Upper Sindh remained in grip of dense fog. Weather remained dry and cold in most parts of the country while very cold in upper areas.
Skardu was the coldest place in the country with minus 16 degrees Celsius, Astore minus 11, Gupis minus 9, Kalat, Bagrote and Kalam minus 7, each, Parachinar and Quetta minus 5, each Gilgit minus 4, Dir, Bannu and Mirkhani minus 3, each. Temperature in Karachi is expected to remain at 12 degrees Celsius on Thursday with cool and dry atmosphere and about 20 percent humidity in the evening hours. "Dry continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country," the Met added.
