Business community has an important role in country's economy as it creates wealth, says PM Imran

• Prime minister says by approving the amendment in NAB Ordinance, the government has facilitated the business community.
• PM says the government will now focus on small and medium industries and the ways to help the investors.
• Imran urges the business community to promote tourism sector.

(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan said that business community has an important role as it creates wealth. He said that wealth creation can only be made possible by facilitating the business community and through ease of doing business.

Addressing the award distribution ceremony of Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi on Friday, the PM said the countries that prosper stand on two principles: justice and compassion.

He added, “The state of Madina also stood on these two principles and the more we concentrate on it, we will achieve a direction.”

He said, “A nation cannot prosper if there exists no wealth creation."

The PM said that the business community feared NAB. "By approving the amendment in NAB Ordinance, we facilitated the business community."

He said, "It is our need that business community flourishes in the country."

The prime minister said that the government wants the people to make money and profits. He mentioned that year 2019 was a stabilising year  for the country and 2020 will be the year of growth.

He mentioned, "We will now focus on small and medium industries and the ways to help the investors."

He said Pakistan has been termed as the best country for tourism. Imran urged the business community to promote tourism sector. He said that by bringing reforms in the tourism sector, the government aims to create job opportunities for the youth.

Speaking on the occasion, Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Hafeez Shaikh said that the government rescued the country out of the economic crisis under the leadership of Imran Khan.

He said that there has been a boost in investment in the country due to the effective policies of the government.

He maintained that measures have been taken to increase the imports and bring improvement in the economy of Pakistan.

Hafeez said that the international organizations, including the IMF and World Bank have appreciated the government’s measures for economic growth.

He pointed out the government did face difficulties in the process of strengthen the country’s economy.
