The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday issued a white paper on 'performance of Punjab education department in 2019' claiming that the Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf-led Punjab government failed to deliver in the field of education.

The White Paper was released by the PML-N Punjab spokesperson Uzma Bukhari.

"In 2019, various projects of School education could not be completed while the posts of secretaries in six boards are lying vacant apart from posts of Controllers in three boards," the white paper said, adding: About 1.6 million students remain deprive from education due to not achieving targets of admissions in schools."

The White Paper says the online system of transfers of teachers collapsed while the scheme of installing solar system in schools cannot be completed. The seats of sanitary workers in 35,000 primary schools are lying vacant while over 50 thousand seats of teachers in BS-14 to 16 are also lying vacant.

The White Paper says that results of public sector schools are very poor and parents are shifting their children to private schools. The promise of uniform educational system cannot be fulfilled by the PTI government while the budget of Daanish Schools has also been curtailed, the paper adds.
