Russia's response to Syrian rebellion is highly questionable. Moscow has now certainly gone overboard after it intervened in the Syrian civil war in 2015. That is why perhaps several hundred Turkish and Syrian protesters held an anti-Russia demonstration in Istanbul on Saturday against intensified Russian and regime bombardment in Syria's rebel bastion of Idlib.
Their stepped-up attacks are creating new waves of refugees. Turkish President Tayyib Erdogan has therefore warned Europe that Turkey could not handle a new wave of Syrian refugees fleeing the increased bombardment in Idlib. The world community must do something to successfully persuade both Moscow and Damascus to revisit their joint strategy in relation to civilian population in particular.
