Sindh govt takes back ban on pillion riding

• The ban has been lifted on Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah's directives.
• However, ban on display of weapons and use of firearms will remain in place.

A day after it issued a notification, the Government of Sindh on Tuesday lifted the ban on pillion riding in Karachi ahead of New Year's Eve.

On Monday, the government under Section 144 (6) Cr.PC, imposed a complete ban on carrying or display of arms, aerial firing, fire crackers and pillion riding from December 31, till the morning of January 01.

However, today, the ban was lifted on the orders of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani said. He further said that a ban on display of weapons and use of firearms will remain in place, local media reported.
