LPG price increase by over Rs23 per kg as New Year begins
- Under the new prices, the LPG price has been increased by 23.54/kg to Rs151.82/kg.
- The government increased the price of petrol by Rs 2.61 per litre and High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 2.25 per litre High Speed Diesel (HSD) for the month of January, 2020.
Amid chilling winter wave across country, the government has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs277.79 to Rs1,791.48 per 11.8/kg cylinder for January 2020.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) notified that the new prices, under which the LPG price has been increased by 23.54/kg to Rs151.82/kg.
The double digit increase has been hard for the consumers to swallow after an increased in the cold spell across Pakistan, the usage of LPG increased due to the shortage and low pressure of domestic gas.
The government on Tuesday increased the price of petrol by Rs 2.61 per litre and High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 2.25 per litre High Speed Diesel (HSD) for the month of January, 2020.
As per the notification issued by the government the entire increase in all the petroleum products has been passed on to the consumers. As per the notified prices an increase of up to 3.2 percent in the prices of various petroleum products has been allowed for the first month of the New Year.
As per the notification, kerosene oil has been increased by Rs 3.10 or 3.2 percent and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) by Rs 2.08 per litre or 2.5 percent. Similarly, High Speed Diesel (HSD) has been hiked by Rs 2.25 per litre or 1.8 percent and petrol Rs 2.61 per litre or 2.3 percent.
