Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue (IR) Multan carried out a raid on an unregistered plastic factory in Multan and detected massive sales tax evasion.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) took the action after receiving various complaints regarding tax evasion by factory owners as they were operating without registration and causing financial loss to the national kitty. The complainants argued that the unregistered factory owners were creating uneven playing filed for those legally operating, and the FBR following a number of complains took action against the unregistered plastic factory. The director general Inland Revenue Islamabad directed the relevant dept in Multan to take the action and a special team following the directives raided the plastic factory situated in a residential area in a multi-storey building. The FBR team traced the factory through intelligence collection, impounded the factory record and started an investigation.
