AGP clarification

This is with reference to a news item titled "AGP recovered over 53bn in 18 Months: PAC told" carried by Business Recorder, dated 3rd January 2020.

The news item paragraphs 3, 11 and 19 present incorrect position, said a clarification issued by the AGP.

"In this regard necessary clarification is as under: it is clarified that honorable PAC members highlighted that the PAC directives based on audit recommendations do not get quick implementation due to which the institution is not achieving its objectives and AGP did not complain about cooperation with FIA and NAB. "The AGP proposed that PAC directives should be made mandatory instead of recommendatory nature. For this he proposed amendment to Rules of National Assembly. The proposals of AGP were appreciated and accordingly to be taken up by PAC Secretariat".
