Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar held a meeting with Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, here on Tuesday and discussed matters pertaining to progress and prosperity of the province of Punjab and provision of basic facilities to the people.
Both also vowed to continue joint efforts for the people's welfare as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. They also discussed government affairs, political and other issues.
Provincial Ministers Syed Sumsam Bukhari, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan, Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, Dr Akhtar Malik and Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed also called on Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and discussed important issues besides matters of mutual interest.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sarwar said that all the political parties are united on country's interest and national security. "InshaAllah, after the National Assembly, the Army Act Amendment Bill will also be passed by the Senate as well," he said, adding: "The entire nation is standing with Pakistan armed forces and it is a clear and loud message to the country's enemies that they will be responded in a befitting manner, whenever they resort to any misadventure against Pakistan."
The Governor said: "Pakistan is stabilizing economically while foreign investment in the country is also increasing due to well-conceived and viable policies of the government." He added that there is no precedence of sacrifices as were given by Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism for establishment of peace. If India resorted to any misadventure against Pakistan, it will be given befitting response, he added.
He said the federal government's announcement regarding billions of rupees funds for seven projects as well as for poverty alleviation and improving the water supply system in Southern Punjab, is indeed an ample proof of its sincerity with the people of those areas.
