Government to build three jetties & set up eight hatcheries under GLLSP
The government will construct three jetties, establish eight hatcheries and eighty commercial net cultures under Gwadar-Lasbella Livelihood Support Project-II (GLLSP-II).
The project is second phase of Gwadar-Lasbelia Livelihoods Support Project-I (GLLSP-I), which was initiated in 2013 and completed in March, 2019.
The GLLSP-I covered 90 per cent villages in Gwadar and Lasbella districts through a network of over 3,500 community organizations. The Phase-I couldn't achieve one of its major targets i.e., jetties construction due to limited capacity available in country with regard to its designing and construction.
The GLLSP-II will cover all ultra-poor and poor households in the poverty band of 0-40 with an appropriate mix of an integrated support package, and to synergize interventions with government's own poverty graduation initiatives like Ehsas and Kamyab Naujawan.
The project is aligned with the sector issue of limited investment in construction and maintenance of infrastructure.
