Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah on Friday lashed out at the government for implicating him in a "false" drug case and sought constitution of a fact-finding judicial commission to investigate the case filed against him by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly by holding a copy of the Holy Quran in his hands, Rana Sanaullah who remained for six months in ANF's detention vowed that he is speaking the truth, urging the powers that be to look into the case "or else they will invite God's wrath." He further said, "If I tell a lie, I will invite God's wrath. May wrath of Allah be upon those who implicated me in false case and those who ordered to initiate this false case against me."

While describing the incident of his arrest in detail, former Punjab law minister Sanaullah said that he wants the case to become a part of the National Assembly record.

He said, "I left my home at 1:00pm to attend a party meeting in Lahore. When I reached Lahore tool plaza at 3:19pm, there were around 100 ANF officials who arrested me. The ANF brought me in police station at 3:35 pm. From the time I was taken into custody to 10:00am the next morning, no one spoke to me for investigation."

"There were cameras installed in that police station and you can ask for the record if I was ever interrogated by the agency," he added.

He said, "As you promised me that my request will be forwarded to Prime Minister Imran Khan, I demand the formation of a cabinet committee to probe this case. If that is not possible, a fact-finding judicial commission should be formed for the inquiry. I am saying this because no investigation was ever done."

"I demand the government to formulate a parliamentary committee for investigation. Mr. Speaker, I request you to take notice of this mater and send it to any standing committee of the House, I am ready to appear before it.

"Mr. Speaker, I request you to order them to bring video and footages of me so that the whole House could watch these," he said.

Before concluding his speech, Sanaullah warned that the practice of making fake cases, if not discontinued, could come back to haunt others as well.

He also recalled how "60 years ago a case of cattle theft against Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi had become a stain" for the late politician.

The PML-N leader had earlier said he would not allow the drug case against him to proceed until the alleged video against him is presented.

Urging an open trial of the case against him, Sanaullah had said, "Until and unless an open trial is held, we will not let the case proceed at all."

He also questioned where the alleged video was. "If the video is present, it should be presented in court. This case will not move forward until the video is presented in the court."

Responding to the speech of Rana Sanaullah, Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed said that PML-N senior leader is facing multiple allegations including Model Town killings.

He said that it is not right to discuss the sub-judice matters in the House. "The court is hearing Rana Sanaullah's case in which the suspect and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), both, have different stances," he said.

"Rana Sanaullah should not have presented his viewpoint in the House while holding a copy of the Holy Quran in his hands. All of us have taken oath that everything that is said in House would be true. It is a violation of oath if we lie here," he said.

"Have we forgotten the Model Town incident which occurred on his (Sanaullah's) orders? Should we forget the groans of the little girl who was questioning the murder of her mother?" he asked.
