South Korea's largest feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) purchased around 69,000 tonnes of corn in an international tender for the same volume which closed on Thursday, European traders said. The grain can be sourced from any worldwide optional origins but some expected the grain to come from the United States.

The yellow corn was believed to have been bought at $211.95 a tonne c&f plus a $1.25 surcharge for additional port unloading, for arrival in South Korea around April 15.

The Seller was believed to be trading house Dreyfus. Yellow corn equivalent to US number 3 grade or better was sought by NOFI in one consignment of between 45,000 and 69,000 tonnes.

If sourced from the US Pacific Northwest coast, the corn shipment was sought between March 13 and April 1, if from the US Gulf or east Europe between Feb. 22 and March 12, if from South America between Feb. 17 and March 7, or between Feb. 27 and March 17 if from South Africa.
