Six die of suffocation in Gujrat fire incident
- Police says the fire erupted as a result of an electric short-circuit.

(Karachi) At least six persons belonging to a family lost their lives after a fire erupted in a house in Gujrat, media reported on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Aach Goch Village. Police officials said as soon as the locals saw smoke coming out of the house, they reached the site and started rescue operation.
They said during the incident, six people, including two women died.
The police officials said that all the victims died of suffocation. They added the fire erupted as a result of an electric short-circuit.
They maintained that two of the victims were females in mid 20s. The deceased were identified as Amanat, Kashif, Zobia, Madiha, Faisal and Zaheer.
Earlier, a newly born baby died after a fire broke out in Karachi’s National Institute of Child Health (NICH).
The fire broke out in children's ward and quickly engulfed the entire room. As a result, an infant, who was in the incubator at the time when the fire erupted, was burnt to death.
