PM welcomes UNSC meeting on Indian occupied Kashmir
- IoK remains on the council’s agenda and its consideration by the UNSC 'reflects a recognition of the seriousness of the prevailing situation', the premier tweeted.
Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the recently held meeting on Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
In a tweet from his Twitter handle on Thursday, the premier said that IoK, which is an internationally recognized dispute, remains on the council’s agenda and its consideration by the UNSC 'reflects a recognition of the seriousness of the prevailing situation'.
In another tweet, the prime minister said that the Kashmir issue must be resolved in accordance with relevant UNSC resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people.
"We will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they secure their inalienable right to self-determination," the premier vowed.
