Prices of important kitchen items, including vegetable, pulses, live chicken/meat, sugar, flour remained high-side in retail market as no significant change or increase was witnessed during previous week, according to a survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 100 and Rs 120 per kg, while onion was available within range of Rs 60-90 per kg in retail market, the survey witnessed.
Similarly, the survey further said ginger is being sold at Rs 400-450 per kg while garlic was available at Rs 240-280 per kg in local market. Green chili is being sold at Rs 160-200 per kg. Lemon is being sold at Rs 100-110 per kg. Cucumber is being sold at Rs 70-80 per kg, while carrots are being available at Rs 60 per kg.
Red colour potato is being sold at Rs 80-90 per kg while others available at Rs 50-60 per kg against the price of Rs 40 per kg. Peas are being sold at Rs 250 per kg, capsicum available at Rs 150-170 per kg, Arvi at Rs 100-120 per kg.
Price of cauliflower was decreased as available at Rs 40-50 per kg, which was selling at Rs 60 per kg in the previous week, while cabbage was priced at Rs 60 per kg. Bringle was available at Rs 80 per kg which was priced at Rs 50 per kg in the previous week. Bitter gourd (Karela) is being sold at Rs 120 and Rs 150 per kg. A bundle of radish is being sold at Rs 20.
Flour is being sold at Rs 70-75 per kg due to increasing flour crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the survey, the prices of food grains have unchanged in retail market as Dal mash price has increased at Rs 240 per kg against the price of Rs 210 per kg in the previous week.
Likewise, it further witnessed dhoti dal is available at Rs 240 per kg which was selling at Rs-190 per kg in the last week. It added white lobiya is being sold at Rs 200 per kg against the price of Rs 160 per kg. Dal black (chilka) was available at Rs 220 per kg against the price of Rs 180 per kg, while dal green (chilka) priced at Rs 200 per kg against the Rs 170 per kg, showing an increase of Rs 30 per kg.
Similarly, a substantial increase in price of Moonge was noticed in retail market as available Rs 200 per kg, which was selling at Rs 160 per kg. Good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs 150 per kg against the price of Rs 140 per kg in the previous week, whereas toota rice brown colour is being sold at Rs 80 per kg and white color at Rs 70 per kg.
Chinese red bean is being sold at Rs 190 per kg against the price of Rs 180 per kg while Tajikistani red bean was available at Rs 170 per kg, which was selling at Rs 170 per kg in the last week. Dal channa is being sold at Rs 180 per kg which was selling at Rs 170 per kg in the previous week. Big size white channa is being available at Rs 140 per kg while small-size white channa priced at Rs 110 per kg.
Prices of almost all brand and quality of cooking oil and ghee remained unchanged in retail market. Sugar is being sold at Rs 75 per kg which was selling at Rs 73 per kg in the previous week. A considerable increase in price of gram flour (baisen) was witnessed as available at Rs 200 per kg which was selling at Rs 160 per kg in the previous week.
