2020's first polio case surfaces in Lakki Marwat

The National Institute of Health (NIH) Islamabad has notified first polio case of the new calendar year 2020 from Tehsil Sarai Naurang of district Lakki Marwat as the national case count closed at 136 last year. According to the notification, wild polio virus has been isolated from the stool sample of 12 months old male child from union council Bakhmal Ahmedzai, Tehsil Sarai Naurang, District Lakki Marwat. The vaccination history of the family is that of refusal with only dose of essential immunization and three doses of SIAs as per recall.
