General Secretary, Pensioners' Association, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Peshawar, Javed Akhtar has demanded immediate increase in the pension of the retired employees of the central bank. In an appeal to Adviser to PM on Finance, Hafeez Sheikh and Governor State Bank of Pakistan, Raza Baqir, he has expressed deep grief and sorrow over unnecessary delay by the central bank management in increasing pension of the retired employees that is tantamount to sheer injustice with the retired employees of the bank.
He said that according to information, the Human Resource Division of the State Bank is collecting the statistics of the inflation since last five months that is a highly cruel delaying tactic.
He said that there is no need for creating any such formula of the ratio of inflation as the analysis of the Bureau of Statistics is sufficient for the purpose that has confirmed the breaking of the nine years record of price hike in the country.
He said that the prices of only kitchen items have registered 16.53 per cent increase and demanded increase in pensions in proportion to the same ratio of inflation. Furthermore, he also called for the regularization of the meager increase announced during last three years.
