HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares tumbled 2.43 percent by the break Monday as poll defeats for the ruling parties in France and Greece raised concerns over austerity policies put in place to tackle Europe's debt crisis.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index slumped 512.86 points to 20,573.14 on turnover of HK$29.76 billion ($3.84 billion).
