Ontex has announced to invest 10 million Euros in a couple of years to double its production capacity in Pakistan not only to serve the local market but explore export opportunities in the region. Ontex was the first multinational company in the diapers category to establish a local manufacturing facility in Pakistan at Karachi's Port Qasim industrial area and the company employs over 250 people across its integrated operations from manufacturing to sales.

According to a company announcement, the growth that Pakistan has delivered in recent years is a testament to the trust that consumers have placed in our brands. "Therefore, we have decided to invest substantially in new machinery this year, so as to double our production capacity in the country." This was stated by Pavel Verbludenko, Ontex Vice President for Middle East, Asia and Africa, while launching new personal hygiene products in Pakistan.

With these new launches we are confident in the future of Pakistan business. For now, local manufacturing serves the needs of the Pakistan market, but we intend to invest more in order to export to nearby markets as we believe that Pakistan can in the near future, serve as an export hub for the region, he added.

"Pakistan offers a large and growing market of consumers who value convenience and quality at an affordable price for baby care and feminine care," Ontex Director for South Asia, Ameen Jan, remarked.

"We are confident that the introduction of Canbebe baby pants will meet the needs of those consumers who prefer the convenience of a pull-up diaper for their growing baby," he added.

Recognizing the needs of female consumers for a better-quality feminine hygiene product, Ameen Jan noted that "Sincere's launch provides Pakistani girls and women with a new, premium quality sanitary napkin for their hygienic needs. I am confident that Sincere will soon become the preferred feminine care brand in the market."

Ontex Pakistan, now in its ninth year, is a major player in the baby diapers segment in the country with its flagship brand Canbebe which is a leading baby diapers brand in Pakistan with nationwide distribution and brand recognition as a high-quality diaper at an affordable price. Canped, its adult diaper brand, provides quality hygienic care for elders with incontinence problems.
