The federal government decided to nominate on Tuesday Sikander Sultan Raja as the new Chief Election Commissioner.
The nomination has been confirmed by Federal Minister on Human Rights Shireen Mazari. Prime Minister Imran Khan had proposed the name of Raja. Nisar Durrani and Shah Mohammad Jatoi have been nominated as ECP members from Sindh and Balochistan.
The ECP was non-functional after the retirement of Sardar Mohammad Raza on December 5.
