CECOS University of IT & Emerging Sciences has conducted here on Wednesday 'Makers Fest 2020' to provide skills for the students of Computer, Electrical & Mechanical departments to meet with future challenges.

A total of 40 students from 5th semester took part in the three modules Makers Fest competition that included six teams from Line Following Robot, five teams from Fire Fighting Robot & three teams from Sumo Fight.

Makers Fest - where robots designed by students enter competition and battlefield happens at least once a year in universities.

Faculty members actively supported the students who took part and ensured their designs are made practical. Previously, CECOS University students were part of such events held at different universities, with a recent performance at HITEC University, Taxila.

The Vice Chancellor, CECOS University & Director, ORIC expressed keen interest in such events to take place in CECOS, which expands to the extent that other universities can take part in future as well.

The judging panel included Engr Umair Ali (Mechanical department) & Engr Ali Durrani (Electrical department). Line Following & Fire Fighting modules winners were Electrical department, whereas, Mechanical department won the Sumo fight.

Students at CECOS University are highly skilled, motivated and active in being part of such events. Not only this opportunity highlighted their talents, which was because of three days extensive training in the Makers Lab at CECOS University, but it will also serve as developing & improving their designs for the upcoming fest, which will involve regional level schools, colleges & universities before going on national level. CECOS University aims to conduct Makers Fest every year with each year bigger than the previous, ultimately going International.
