The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday mourned the death of its senior lawmaker - PPP's Ali Mardan Shah, as legislators paid him tribute for his services.
The house resumed its proceedings with Speaker Aga Siraj Khan Durrani in chair about 2 hours late from schedule but met immediate adjournment until next day - Jan 23.
As per the house tradition, the assembly mourns for one day on the demise of its sitting legislator.
Several lawmakers paid him homage for his services. "Late Ali Mardan Shah was a seasoned lawmaker and we all will miss him," Kunwar Naveed Jamil of the MQM said. Nusrat Sehar Abbasi called for prayers for those died in avalanche in Kashmir and elsewhere in the country. The house suspended its business for one day.
