This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "Pakistan-China relationship, CPEC: China expresses opposition to US 'interference'" carried by the newspaper yesterday. According to which, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad has dismissed the 'negative propaganda' of the United States about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and posed questions to senior US diplomat Alice Wells if she has brought any 'aid, investment or trade for Pakistan' during her visit. The Chinese envoy's statement, in my view, is a strong counter-attack because Beijing for quite some time has been receiving unwarranted and uncalled for criticism from Washington. The US must give up its opposition to the CPEC which is a game-changer in the history of Pakistan. It must stop planting seeds of doubts about this project.
