Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Sunday dismissed the rumours of any change in the center and Punjab as speculations, saying, 'there is no threat to the government'. Talking to reporters, he said that renowned personalities in Punjab consider themselves to be the next chief minister and believe it to be their right. He maintained that any corrupt person will not be part of Imran Khan's cabinet.

"Neither Imran Khan nor Usman Buzdar are going anywhere", he further maintained, adding that all the rumours are mere speculations and the government is not facing any danger.

He said that government allies such as Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and others are in talks with the government, adding that MQM-P's has valid demands while Chaudhry brothers of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) are like 'brothers'. "I believe that both MQM-P and PML-Q will remain part of the government and they are standing by Imran Khan", he maintained.

To a question, he said that people are facing hardships due to price hike, adding that the government will make sure to decrease the prices and control the inflation. He alleged the previous governments for creating the situations in which the PTI government had to approach the International Monetary Fund (IMF). "The dacoits and thieves plundered the national exchequer leaving no option for the government but to approach the IMF", he maintained.

Responding to another query about the wheat crisis, the minister said that he had opposed the idea of importing the wheat, adding that he would also give a suggestion in the next cabinet meeting to constitute price control committees with public representatives as their members.
