KARACHI: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has released its verdict in the contempt of court case against Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, the media reported on Tuesday.
The 77-page detailed verdict by Justice Nasirul Mulk read that the prime minister did not comply to the court's orders in President Asif Ali Zardari's graft case.
A 6-page extended note of the verdict was also added by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
Talking to the media, law expert Khalid Ranjha said that the verdict will go to the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) under Article 63 (1)(g) of the Constitution.
The Speaker will have 30 days to decide on the disqualification while the ECP will have 90 days giving the PM four more months in office.
It may be mentioned that Prime Minister Gilani was awarded a symbolic sentence of 30 seconds under Section 5 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance threatening his continuation in office.
