The Karachi Port handled 126,099 tonnes of cargo comprising 67,402 tonnes of import cargo and 58,697 tonnes of export cargo including 6,329 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 67,402 tonnes comprised of 39,602 tonnes of containerised cargo and 27,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 58,697 tonnes comprised of 26,937 tonnes of containerised cargo; 500 tonnes of bulk cargo; 30,000 tonnes of clinker and 1,260 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,329 containers comprising of 3,030 containers of import and 3,299 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 622 of 20's and 936 of 40's loaded while 02 of 20's and 267 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 475 of 20's and 586 of 40's loaded containers while 400 of 20's and 626 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were four ships namely Hyundai Vancouver, Kota Cabar, CSL Sophie and Maa Saleha Begum carrying containers and clinker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels Diyala, CMA CGM Racine and Botany Bay carrying containers currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 208,191 tonnes comprising 160,379 tonnes of import cargo and 47,812 tonnes of export cargo including 4,047 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 160,379 tonnes includes 22,065 tonnes of LNG; 3,634 tonnes of LPG; 62,900 tonnes of coal; 7,724 tonnes of palm oil; 8,730 tonnes of soyabean; 15,000 tonnes of gas oil; 996 tonnes of MEG and 39,330 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 47,812 tonnes includes 10,247 tonnes of rice and 37,563 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,047 containers comprising of 2,070 containers import and 1,977 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were two ships sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.

A total number of ten ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, rice, soyabean, MEG, LNG, LPG, gas oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as nine vessels viz. Zhe Hai-520, Navios Christine-B, Sakizaya Integrity, Tiger Winter, CSC Cyanete, Atlantic Breeze, Mega, Elim and JBU Opal carrying canola, coal, MEG, mogas, gas oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were four ships viz. MSC Asya, Maersk Columbus, Navios Christine-B and Sakizaya Integrity carrying containers, coal and canola respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Grains and Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There was one ship namely MSC Asya carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday.

There are two ships namely Happy Elena and GSL Manet carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday, while another ship namely Smiley Lady carrying containers is due to arrive on Sunday.
