Northwest European gasoline barge refining margins fell on Monday amid low transatlantic exports. Arrivals of European gasoline and gasoline components to the United States have remained low at about 434,200 tonnes so far in January, Refinitiv Eikon data showed. Last month, Europe exported around 990,900 tonnes of gasoline and components to the United States.

US oil refiners are expected to have 578,000 barrels per day (bpd) of capacity offline for the week ending Jan. 31, increasing available refining capacity by 505,000 bpd from the previous week research company IIR Energy said on Monday. Offline capacity is expected to rise to 705,000 bpd in the week ended February 7.

Motiva Enterprises plans to finish shutting down the gasoline-producing unit at its 607,000 bpd Port Arthur, Texas, refinery to begin a planned overhaul at the unit, sources familiar with plant operations said. Motiva began shutting the 81,000 bpd fluidic catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) on Sunday for a planned 50-day overhaul, the sources said.

Production remains cut on the small crude distillation unit (CDU) and gasoline-producing unit at Lyondell Basell Industries' 263,776 bpd Houston refinery, said Gulf Coast market sources. Clogging of the desalter section of the 120,000 bpd Unit 536 CDU has reduced production on that unit and the 90,000 bpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit (FCCU), the sources said.
