Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his meeting with Portugal Ambassador Paulo Neves Pocunho has decided to invite Portuguese football coaches to professionally train football players of Lyari.

The Ambassador of Portugal, Paulo Neves Pocunho called on Sindh Chief Minister here on Thursday at CM House and discussed football, renewable energy and education exchange programmes with him.

The Chief Minister said that the children of Lyari were fond of football and they have good teams. "But, I want to get them trained professionally so that they can play professional international matches," he said. The visiting diplomat agreed to invite football coaches to Karachi. He directed Sindh Sport Department to invite Portuguese coaches officially.

In the meeting, both agreed to start students exchange programme for different graduates and post graduate courses. The Chief Minister directed University and Boards Department to coordinate with the Ambassador so that it could be implemented mutually.

Meeting with Canadian High Commissioner

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also met with Canadian High Commissioner Ms Wendy Gilmour here at CM House. The meeting was attended by Behram Avari also.

The Ambassador discussed $30 dollar educational programmes going on in Sindh with the assistance of the Canadian government. The ambassador also offered to launch Mother-Child Health programme in three districts, Badin, Shadadkot and Thar.

The chief minister said that in rural areas women hard work more than the men. "Our women have contributed in development of national economy, particular the rural economy," he said and added early childhood marriages was a social issue against which his government has enacted the laws. Shah also presented his shield, Ajrak to the visiting guest.-PR
