Prime Minister Imran Khan has formed three committees to maintain liaison with allied parties to reduce the communication gap between allies and government after problems appeared brewing within the ruling coalition.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister held a meeting in the Prime Minister Office to discuss the issues raised by allied parties during his recent visits to Lahore and Karachi and also ahead of the National Assembly's session.
The meeting discussed in detail the process of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) engagement with its allies. The Prime Minister stated that he felt the need that this process needs to be strengthened and formalized so that there are no gaps in communication among all the allies forming the government.
The Prime Minister decided to form a number of ruling party's committees under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak. A committee under the convener-ship of Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar would keep liaison with Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Grand Democratic Alliance. Members of the committee are Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Firdous Shamim Naqvi and Haleem Adil Sheikh.
The Prime Minister formed a committee with convener Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar to maintain liaison with Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid). Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and Minister for Technical Education Shafqat Mahmood are members of the committee.
